Coming down into the crystalline tunnels was a strange yet almost beautiful experience, if not for the infrastructure set up. Given that Makoto before hadn't ever quite had the chance to investigate Area Zero or the like up to now, this was something new.

Though, it was hard to focus on their surroundings when someone important addressed them. Makoto blinked - quick to straighten up in Jayden's presence. "Admin Cross, sir." They acknowledged him respectfully, though also a hair nervously. In regards to the question given, they glanced between the different work being done...

... "... The cameras," They'd decide - observing the security being put in place. With their skills as a thief, they knew all too well how to look for blind spots; and in turn, how to make sure there would be none. At their side, Biri would be a welcome aid in ensuring everything was working as it should.

For Jayden, he neither acknowledges nor seems to notice the other's nervousness. In fact, he moves as though such a thing did not exist in the first place.

[break][break] The admin leads the way away from the muscle-bound grunts, who are occupied with hauling heavy metal beams for the reinforcement team. Above, crystalized stalagmites glitter menacingly, resembling the fangs of a predator poised to strike.

[break][break] "Carry those," he says, gesturing to a bag of equipment cultivated by the likes of their science and intelligence division, before headed towards an open spot where it seems the cameras should be installed. He waves an arm, and a staircase of ice gathers before Makoto Kurumi.

[break][break] Arms crossed, he waits for the other to complete the task. Something prickles in his spine, however, and he notices something is not as it should be.

Makoto does not question as they follow Jayden's directions - picking up the bag of equipment, and getting to work on getting cameras installed.

It was a bit of a strange feeling, thinking like a thief not for the purpose of sneaking into somewhere, but for the purpose of keeping others out. They found themself thinking hard about where the blind spots were from their own experiences in stealth, looking over to other cameras as they decided where each new one should go.

However, then came a flicker of something, out of the corner of their eye. Makoto glanced - but by the time they looked, whatever it had been had disappeared around the corner. But, following their gut feeling... "... We might not be alone." They respond, carefully climbing back down from the wall.

Biri flit ahead, acting as a scout for them as they adjusted their mask - not keen on any surprise appearances catching a glimpse of their real face.

"Not alone?" Jayden echoed.

[break][break] But there was not time to question that strangeness.

[break][break] Because the second that the Rotom turned corner, they would find that - indeed - @makoto's perception had been accurate. They were indeed not alone.

[break][break] Coldness immediately sweeps through the room as Jayden catches sight of Greyson Connors, hatred bleeding through each and every crevice of the man's body. His voice rippled with the hateful frost of a man unchained.

[break][break] "Greyson Connors," he snarled, turning on a heel. "You do not belong here."

[break][break] Ice crackled around his palm as he readied himself for an attack, but then several League agents appeared behind the Elite Four for back-up, making such confrontation all the more difficult.

[break][break] "Kurumi," he commanded. "Provide back-up."

[break][break] Whether it was by her own means or others, he did not care. Without mercy, the Cursed sprinted forward without abandon, aiming to slash down the Elite Four from where he stood.

The second that Biri saw the intruders, the little Rotom would make a cacophony of crackles and beeps - a clear warning signal, that had Makoto reaching for their other pokeballs.

However, the sight that they're met with - of an Elite Four member leading a squadron of League agents - is one that gives them pause. Outmatched, outnumbered. Though Jayden could likely hod his own for a bit, Makoto had much the same thought: to get back-up.

Thus, they glance to Biri - "Get help." - before sending out a few of their pokemon, to try and hold the line as the Rotom zipped back down the other way. They didn't need to dominate the fight; just to hold them off until back-up could arrive...

It's the League's Elite Four leading this small group. You know immediately that you can't handle this on your own. You've got to call for back up. [break][break]

Luckily, priam conrad is nearby. The Beast is undeniably skilled, and it's a surprise that he hasn't been promoted sooner. You watch with amazement as he and several other Rockets join the fight, overwhelming Greyson Connors and the other Leaguers with sheer numbers. [break][break]

Annoyed by this turn of events, Greyson shoots a withering glare at you. [break][break]

"This won't be the end. You'll pay for this." [break][break]

He scrambles for a hasty retreat, unfortunately allowing one or two of his party to be captured as prisoners of war. [break][break]

Later, Priam praises your quick thinking. [break][break]

"Never be afraid to ask for help," he says cheerfully. "We've always got your back."

Ice pillars plunge through the crystal caverns in an attempt to pierce Greyson Connors from where he stands, but the Elite Four proves to be more difficult than anticipated. Luckily, back-up arrives in the form of priam conrad and sure enough, they are able to sweep the tide of League rats from the tunnels in which they came.

[break][break] "Thanks," he says, glancing appreciatively at priam conrad for his work. While he watches the Beast and the rest of the grunts depart to clear up the damages made, he looks back at Makoto Kurumi.

[break][break] "Excellent work," he says, tacking onto the end of the Beast's praise. "You were quick and diligent in getting the aid we needed."

[break][break] "Come on, let's finish our task."

[break][break] "Afterwards, we can get lunch in the cafeteria. You deserve it."

It is a godsend, when Priam comes in with a squadron of his own. Makoto switches out their worn out pokemon, exhaling with relief, as the tides shift in the Rockets' favor, and the group is able to force Greyson and his men into a retreat.

To be praised by Priam and Jayden both is met with a blink - and there is something equating sheepishness or bashfulness in their expression as they quietly nod. "Y... Yes, sirs." They respectfully acknowledge the duo, as they recall their pokemon (excluding Biri, of course.)

Lunch certainly sounded good... There were just a few things left they'd have to set up, first...
